Deleting Pages & the Trash

Deleting a page requires the Contributor role or higher. Deleted pages are not immediately destroyed — they are moved to the trash and can be restored.

Deleting a page

Open the page you want to delete and click the Delete button (bin icon) in the page toolbar. The button is visible to Contributors and Admins directly in the page view — you do not need to open the editor first. Confirm the prompt.

The Trash

Open the trash via the Dashboard or the admin menu. The trash shows the 100 most recently deleted pages with their deletion date. Contributors and Admins can access the trash.

Restoring a page

Click Restore next to a page in the trash. The page is restored as inactive so it is not immediately visible to guests. If the original parent page was also deleted, the restored page is moved to the root level instead.

Permanent deletion (purge)

Only Admins can permanently delete a page. Click Purge next to a page in the trash to permanently remove it along with its keyword index and translations. This action cannot be undone.

Automatic purge

Pages that have been in the trash longer than the configured retention period (default: 30 days) are automatically purged by the nightly quality-check cron job. The retention period can be adjusted with the trashRetentionDays setting. See Application Settings.
