Page Status (Workflow)

Every page in Guidevera has a visibility status and, optionally, a workflow status. These are two separate concepts.

Visibility status

The visibility status controls whether a page is shown to guests:

  • Active — the page is visible to everyone, including guests.
  • Inactive — the page is hidden from guests. Logged-in users can still see and edit it.

Toggle the visibility status using the eye icon in the page toolbar while viewing a page (not in edit mode). The button shows an open eye when the page is active, and a crossed-out eye when inactive.

Workflow status (optional)

If the review process is enabled by your administrator, pages move through a four-stage workflow:

  • Draft — work in progress, not ready for review.
  • In Review — submitted for approval. Saving as an Editor automatically sets this status.
  • Published — approved by a Contributor or Admin.
  • Archived — no longer current; kept for reference.

Editors can move a page between Draft and In Review. Only Contributors and Admins can set a page to Published or Archived. The workflow status is independent of the visibility status — a page can be Published in the workflow but still inactive (hidden from guests) until explicitly activated.

If the review process is disabled, all pages use the Published workflow status by default and the workflow controls are not shown.

For the full review process including assigning reviewers, see The Review Process.
