Moving & Reordering Pages

Moving and reordering pages requires the Contributor role or higher. You cannot drag pages while another page is open in the editor — close the editor first.

Reordering within the same level

In the sidebar, click and drag any page title up or down to change its position among its siblings. Release to drop it in the new position. The order is saved immediately.

Moving to a different parent

Drag a page and drop it onto another page to make it a child of that page. The target parent is automatically expanded when you drop a page into it. To move a page back to the root level, drag it above or below all other root-level pages.

Circular references

Guidevera prevents you from dropping a page onto one of its own descendants, which would create a circular reference in the tree. If you attempt this, the move is rejected.

Effect on chapter numbering

Chapter numbers are recalculated automatically after every move. All affected pages in the tree reflect the new numbering immediately.
