Guidevera

Revision History & Diff

Guidevera automatically saves a revision every time a page is saved. Revisions allow you to view previous versions of a page and restore them if needed. Requires enableRevisions to be enabled.

Who can access revisions

  • Contributors and Admins always have access to revision history.
  • Editors can access revision history only when the review process is disabled. When the review process is enabled, revision access is restricted to Contributors and Admins.

Viewing revision history

Open a page in edit mode and click the Revisions tab in the editor panel. A list of up to 50 revisions is shown with the save date, author, and optional revision note. Click any revision to preview its title and content.

Restoring a revision

When previewing a revision, click Restore to apply it to the current page. Before restoring, the current page content is automatically saved as a new revision (labelled "Auto-saved before restore") so the restore can itself be undone.

Revision notes

When saving a page, you can optionally add a Revision note — a short description of what changed. This note appears in the revision list and helps identify specific versions.

Revision limit

The revision list shows the 50 most recent revisions per page. Older revisions are retained in the database but are not shown in the UI.
