Creating a Page
Creating a new page requires the Contributor role or higher.
How to create a page
Click the + (New page) button in the sidebar toolbar. A new page titled [New page] is immediately added to the tree as an inactive page at the root level. It opens in the editor automatically so you can set the title and content right away.
Setting the parent
A newly created page is placed at the root level by default. To nest it under another page, drag it to the desired position in the tree after saving, or use the parent selector in the editor. See Moving & Reordering Pages.
Initial state
Every new page starts as inactive (hidden from guests). If the review process is enabled, the workflow status is set to Draft. If the review process is disabled, the workflow status is set to Published. You must explicitly activate the page to make it visible. See Page Status.
Importing content
Instead of writing from scratch, you can import an existing Markdown or HTML file as a new page. See Importing Markdown & HTML.
