Stale Content

The stale content list shows pages that have not been updated for longer than the configured threshold. It is a tool for content owners to identify documentation that may be outdated and needs review. Accessible to all logged-in users with the Editor role or higher.

How staleness is determined

A page is considered stale if its last modification date is older than staleContentMonths months (default: 12 months). The threshold applies to the modified date of the page itself — not to its revisions or translations.

Accessing the stale content list

Open the stale content list from the admin menu or Dashboard. It shows up to 50 pages ordered from oldest to newest, with the last modification date and the number of months since the last update.

Acting on stale content

Click any page in the list to open it. Review the content and either update it (which resets the modification date) or archive it if it is no longer needed. There is no automatic action — stale flagging is advisory only.

Configuring the threshold

The staleness threshold is set via staleContentMonths in config/app.php. Set it to a higher number to be less strict, or a lower number for more frequent review cycles. See Application Settings.
